Traveling Hotdog

Hallo Familie!!

I hope everyone had just as a wonderful week as i did!! Wow I don't even know where to start. Well i guess Monday. It was so much fun!! I am so grateful for P days. They save me... So last week the whole zone was planning on going to Erfurt to Oktober Fest. We were so excited!!! so we get there and we were the first ones there so we went and got ice cream. Which is incredible here. Its a problem. Well we finally meet up with the Elders and there was this little carnival thing going on We had to do bumper cars.. Let me tell you, if you want to see how immature 16 missionaries can be, give them bumper cars. It was so much fun there were like little kids in our group and they just like rode around in circles smiling and the rest of us just tried to hit each other as hard as we could For some reason it seemed like they got going pretty fast, mine wasn't working very well so at won't point this German man wearing lederhosen jumped on the back of my car and was just standing there as I drove around I almost peed my pants it was so funny. He said something to me in German and I just looked at him and he said 'All Is Klar' I was like okay and He jumped off. It was like a freaky dream but it was so normal because I am in Germany. Then there was this huge ride the other side of the park all the elders were like "Sister you have to come with us!!" I was like um okay... Even though I was terrified. I told them not to let me chicken out. So we got closer to it. and It was 5€ I was like nah. And Elder Goodrich was like no you have to come I'll pay for you! So I had to go now. Well this ride. I cant believe I didn't get a picture of it. It was like a swingy thing that went upside down and swung back and forth .I don't know why I went on it. .So we start going and I just scram the whole time I was terrified. I got off and felt so sick I almost passed out. Never again will I go on a ride like that. But we had such a fun day at Oktober fest. Elder Boyd and Hawker wore Lederhosen that was funny. Also its official we are Elder Watts favorites. He asked me to write in his Tschus book and he hasn't asked any sisters too So its pretty great. Also since it was his Birthday his family gave him money to buy his presents and he bought a tie and Sister Schendiman the senior couple, she was like "nice birthday tie. I guess its better then wearing your birthday suit".. oh my life it was so awkward we died. Also Hawker told us we are probably going to get married I'm not sure why all the elders just assume I will marry all of them.

But whatever its pretty funny. so for FHE we were at the church and Ian is the British man that speaks perfect German. He writes down things I need help with so he was writing this down and he needed a pen I reached in my bag and I felt something squishy. It was a half eaten hot dog. I just ignored it but then when we got home I looked at it and it had a face on it. I called the Elders and they just laughed, it had been in my bag for like 3 days. It stunk so bad and then I found a napkin and it was his blanket and it said his name is frank... We died.  So of course I added a tie to him and wrapped him back in the napkin and we hid it in the Elders bag and its just really funny.. I am not sure where he is now but I think I will be finding out soon!

So this week I got to do splits with Sister Gardner. She is comps with Sister Ferris!! So that meant I got to see her!! EEKKK it was so nice to talk to her! I love her so much!! But I had fun with Sis Gardner we got to have our service at Bernd the crazy old guy. we got to cut down a tree and put away everything for winter. and he always feeds us lunch Soup. He made like 5 cans of soup and we have to eat it all. I love the chicken noodle soup so I ate a pan of that and he just like keeps pouring the soup until its gone I almost barfed I think I ate 2 cans of soup myself. It was gross. And we had to get back on a train to Bamberg to switch back comps.. But we had enough time to stop at a notebook store its really bad for me to know about it. I love paper and this store is filled with cute notebooks and everything. I mean I bought a birthday calendar because it was really cute.. I have no idea what I am going to do with it but so far I have added all the missionaries birthdays. I don't know. its just so cute. I also got a notebook and its my questions of the soul book. .I write down deep questions I have or my investigators have and I search the scriptures for answers and record them. Its been really cool to see how many scriptures apply to every question But anyway, we get on the train. I spent 8 hours riding trains in 2 days I was dying. But it was really fun!! I was glad that I had my companion back and that i could talk to Sister Ferris she was struggling really bad so it was great to help her and talk to her.
So we really don't have any investigators except for Huiying who is getting baptized on Saturday!!! EEEKK I will talk more about it next week. But we really wanted to be teaching we prayed and decided we would go to this student housing and do doors. We called all the Elders and asked them to pray for us! We really needed help. Soooo we started out we were on our way and of course we got lost and we ended up on this random street and the only person who was there was this guy we talked to him at first he had his phone out and didn't want to listen but we started talking and asking him questions and he put his phone away and was like "yes I actually have wondered that" We asked if we could meet again and he said he didn't feel comfortable with that but he asked if he could have the Book of Mormon and he said he would read it and if he had further interest he would call us. So that was cool. and then we finally found our student housing and we got inside and klingled every door. Most people just laughed at us but the last door was this really cool girl from Ghana. .She was like I would love to learn I would invite you in but I don't have a couch so we don't have any where to sit but can I meet with you in 2 weeks? we were like heck yes!! We got her information and she took ours and we are going back in 2 weeks to talk to her!! YAYY and then we helped a girl move in down the hall and talked to her about the church a little bit and gave her our info if she needed more help moving in.. It was awesome but we still had some extra time and a couple months ago another sister ran into a guy he said he was interested but he didn't have time until oktober so we went by on him. He had us come upstairs and he wanted us to come in and teach right then, but we explained we couldn't be alone with a man so we had a 30 min discussion on his doorstep about the Book of Mormon and our favorite scriptures and he asked if we could come back and share more with him. We set up an appointment and it was so awesome!!! It was such an amazing day! We called and thanked the elders for there prayers and it was just incredible to see the power of prayer and if you really have faith in Jesus Christ he will put the prepared people in your way. I believe that will my whole heart sometimes it just takes longer then we want to see success especially here in Germany. But its also a test, a trail of our faith that I now realize is what I need to help me grow and to become the person I want to be. To become the best Missionary I can be.. to become who the Lord wants me to be. I  am so grateful for this gospel I am grateful for all the amazing experiences I am having on my mission! I love being a missionary I learn so much everyday and I learn how I can better myself so I can help others come unto Christ. Its amazing watching someone grow in the gospel to see them gain a testimony. It helps strengthens mine and I know that its only through the spirit that that happens. I am grateful for the influence of the Holy Ghost in my life I see how it has blessed us in our work as missionaries! I know this church is true. I know God lives and loves us I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, he died for the sins of the world. I am so grateful for the Atonement I am learning so much about it and how I can apply it in my life! I am grateful for this church and the knowledge I have from it. I Love this work! I love all of you so much!! You are in my prayers and thoughts all the time ! I miss everyone so much but I know I am being blessed for this work! And I love it! I hope you all have a wonderful week!!
Keep on Keeping on!
Much love Sister Megli
