Traveling Hotdog

Hallo Familie!!

I hope everyone had just as a wonderful week as i did!! Wow I don't even know where to start. Well i guess Monday. It was so much fun!! I am so grateful for P days. They save me... So last week the whole zone was planning on going to Erfurt to Oktober Fest. We were so excited!!! so we get there and we were the first ones there so we went and got ice cream. Which is incredible here. Its a problem. Well we finally meet up with the Elders and there was this little carnival thing going on We had to do bumper cars.. Let me tell you, if you want to see how immature 16 missionaries can be, give them bumper cars. It was so much fun there were like little kids in our group and they just like rode around in circles smiling and the rest of us just tried to hit each other as hard as we could For some reason it seemed like they got going pretty fast, mine wasn't working very well so at won't point this German man wearing lederhosen jumped on the back of my car and was just standing there as I drove around I almost peed my pants it was so funny. He said something to me in German and I just looked at him and he said 'All Is Klar' I was like okay and He jumped off. It was like a freaky dream but it was so normal because I am in Germany. Then there was this huge ride the other side of the park all the elders were like "Sister you have to come with us!!" I was like um okay... Even though I was terrified. I told them not to let me chicken out. So we got closer to it. and It was 5€ I was like nah. And Elder Goodrich was like no you have to come I'll pay for you! So I had to go now. Well this ride. I cant believe I didn't get a picture of it. It was like a swingy thing that went upside down and swung back and forth .I don't know why I went on it. .So we start going and I just scram the whole time I was terrified. I got off and felt so sick I almost passed out. Never again will I go on a ride like that. But we had such a fun day at Oktober fest. Elder Boyd and Hawker wore Lederhosen that was funny. Also its official we are Elder Watts favorites. He asked me to write in his Tschus book and he hasn't asked any sisters too So its pretty great. Also since it was his Birthday his family gave him money to buy his presents and he bought a tie and Sister Schendiman the senior couple, she was like "nice birthday tie. I guess its better then wearing your birthday suit".. oh my life it was so awkward we died. Also Hawker told us we are probably going to get married I'm not sure why all the elders just assume I will marry all of them.

But whatever its pretty funny. so for FHE we were at the church and Ian is the British man that speaks perfect German. He writes down things I need help with so he was writing this down and he needed a pen I reached in my bag and I felt something squishy. It was a half eaten hot dog. I just ignored it but then when we got home I looked at it and it had a face on it. I called the Elders and they just laughed, it had been in my bag for like 3 days. It stunk so bad and then I found a napkin and it was his blanket and it said his name is frank... We died.  So of course I added a tie to him and wrapped him back in the napkin and we hid it in the Elders bag and its just really funny.. I am not sure where he is now but I think I will be finding out soon!

So this week I got to do splits with Sister Gardner. She is comps with Sister Ferris!! So that meant I got to see her!! EEKKK it was so nice to talk to her! I love her so much!! But I had fun with Sis Gardner we got to have our service at Bernd the crazy old guy. we got to cut down a tree and put away everything for winter. and he always feeds us lunch Soup. He made like 5 cans of soup and we have to eat it all. I love the chicken noodle soup so I ate a pan of that and he just like keeps pouring the soup until its gone I almost barfed I think I ate 2 cans of soup myself. It was gross. And we had to get back on a train to Bamberg to switch back comps.. But we had enough time to stop at a notebook store its really bad for me to know about it. I love paper and this store is filled with cute notebooks and everything. I mean I bought a birthday calendar because it was really cute.. I have no idea what I am going to do with it but so far I have added all the missionaries birthdays. I don't know. its just so cute. I also got a notebook and its my questions of the soul book. .I write down deep questions I have or my investigators have and I search the scriptures for answers and record them. Its been really cool to see how many scriptures apply to every question But anyway, we get on the train. I spent 8 hours riding trains in 2 days I was dying. But it was really fun!! I was glad that I had my companion back and that i could talk to Sister Ferris she was struggling really bad so it was great to help her and talk to her.
So we really don't have any investigators except for Huiying who is getting baptized on Saturday!!! EEEKK I will talk more about it next week. But we really wanted to be teaching we prayed and decided we would go to this student housing and do doors. We called all the Elders and asked them to pray for us! We really needed help. Soooo we started out we were on our way and of course we got lost and we ended up on this random street and the only person who was there was this guy we talked to him at first he had his phone out and didn't want to listen but we started talking and asking him questions and he put his phone away and was like "yes I actually have wondered that" We asked if we could meet again and he said he didn't feel comfortable with that but he asked if he could have the Book of Mormon and he said he would read it and if he had further interest he would call us. So that was cool. and then we finally found our student housing and we got inside and klingled every door. Most people just laughed at us but the last door was this really cool girl from Ghana. .She was like I would love to learn I would invite you in but I don't have a couch so we don't have any where to sit but can I meet with you in 2 weeks? we were like heck yes!! We got her information and she took ours and we are going back in 2 weeks to talk to her!! YAYY and then we helped a girl move in down the hall and talked to her about the church a little bit and gave her our info if she needed more help moving in.. It was awesome but we still had some extra time and a couple months ago another sister ran into a guy he said he was interested but he didn't have time until oktober so we went by on him. He had us come upstairs and he wanted us to come in and teach right then, but we explained we couldn't be alone with a man so we had a 30 min discussion on his doorstep about the Book of Mormon and our favorite scriptures and he asked if we could come back and share more with him. We set up an appointment and it was so awesome!!! It was such an amazing day! We called and thanked the elders for there prayers and it was just incredible to see the power of prayer and if you really have faith in Jesus Christ he will put the prepared people in your way. I believe that will my whole heart sometimes it just takes longer then we want to see success especially here in Germany. But its also a test, a trail of our faith that I now realize is what I need to help me grow and to become the person I want to be. To become the best Missionary I can be.. to become who the Lord wants me to be. I  am so grateful for this gospel I am grateful for all the amazing experiences I am having on my mission! I love being a missionary I learn so much everyday and I learn how I can better myself so I can help others come unto Christ. Its amazing watching someone grow in the gospel to see them gain a testimony. It helps strengthens mine and I know that its only through the spirit that that happens. I am grateful for the influence of the Holy Ghost in my life I see how it has blessed us in our work as missionaries! I know this church is true. I know God lives and loves us I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, he died for the sins of the world. I am so grateful for the Atonement I am learning so much about it and how I can apply it in my life! I am grateful for this church and the knowledge I have from it. I Love this work! I love all of you so much!! You are in my prayers and thoughts all the time ! I miss everyone so much but I know I am being blessed for this work! And I love it! I hope you all have a wonderful week!!
Keep on Keeping on!
Much love Sister Megli

Hiking, Birthday Heart Attacks & Conference

Hallo Familie!!
How is everyone doing!!I hope you have all had a wonderful Conference Weekend. Yes, we watched it but I will save that for the end. This week I have really missed home. I'm not sure why just alot of things that remind me of home. This week was so crazy.. Oh man we did so much stuff that most days we didn't even have time for our studies. So Monday after we had everything done we weren't really sure what to do for pday. We didn't want to waste a day in Germany sitting inside so we called the Elders, they said they were up hiking so we were like sure why not. Well they said that it was just a walk up the hill and then you will see us.. They didn't mention that this hill was the entire mountain.. I was dying. It was like the steepest hill I have ever seen and it was like 7 miles, I swear. It was really funny the way they described it they said it was past the houses in the forest past the windy road past the old brown trailer. I thought for sure it was a joke. These random people live in these old gross trailers in the mountain. But we got up and it was so pretty! There was this cool little tower thing and a fort it was just really fun! I also bought new shoes and a new scarf. I love all the clothes here way to much, its a problem. And today we are going to Erfurt to Oktoberfest. That will be fun.

The Hike

Well Tuesday was an exhausting day I was already tired from hiking and my calves where burning. and we had to go help Sister Etkhause in her garden. It is so strange, papa will know what I am talking about. They don't have yards here so they buy a land somewhere else and grow a garden. Like its just miles of land cut in different sections, Its really cool! But she needed help with hers. She needed a tree taken out. We know how much fun that is to do.. So the Elders just started taking it down and then they had to cut up the stump.. they gave me and axe and a saw and told me it was my turn That was a bad idea. I just started going crazy. I felt like a lumberjack, I was chopping the tree into pieces. I think the Elders were shocked. But it was good it was like a stress reliever. I just let out all my anger on this tree. It felt so good! She fed us some lunch, The Germans love potatoe salad. We have it all the time but its really good! we also had eggs with it. They cooked them sunny side way, whatever its called. I have never eaten an egg like that in my life. I panicked a little bit but I made it. It was really good! And then after that we had to meet Eder Robinett so we could plan our topic the next day. We had to give a talk thing on Confidence. Which is hilarious they gave me that topic because I am probably the least confident person. So we were planning and we also had plans to  heart attack Elder Watts for his birthday! So we went and did that before he got home that night.
So the next day his actual Birthday the whole zone had planned this big surprise. We had zone training and we all panned to sing happy birthday to him. But first zone training. We talked on Confidence really well. I just laughed the whole time because I wasn't confident in what I was saying. I guess my motto was Fake it till you Make it.. I am good at faking. I don't think I ever made it. But it was really good we had a few other Elders talk about finding and Unity. We played this hilarious game with animal noises and someone had made cinnamon rolls so we enjoyed those and all headed back home. Ian, he is in our branch, wanted to have a surprise party for Elder Watts. We were invited to come over and help set it up. It was real
y good! We all just had alot of fun. Elder Watts was a little teary eyed and he said it meant so much for him because he really hasn't had a birthday like that since he was 12. He was very grateful for his Best Friends. It was awesome! So we decided that it would be fun to play the animal game with everyone. So we had the 4 Americans 2 Chinese and 3 Germans and 1 British who speaks German. It was so funny with the culture difference. So pretty much you pick an aniamal and make a sound and action to go with it. So sister Weber decided to pick a cat throwing up. Its so hard to explain but it was so funny. I was laughing so hard. I started crying. You know how I get when me and Best friend (Ryan) laugh so hard we can't talk.. That was how I was. I was trying to talk and it was just bad, After I had finally calmed down Ian said Wilkommen to Jena meine Frundin! Elder Watts told me that I had finally come out of my shell. He said in Germany when that happens they call you a naked slug because you are out of shell. So we laughed about that It was so fun!
Elder Watt's "heart attack"
Elder Watt's Birthday
Thursday we had service again at Bernd Studz this time we got to throw rocks down a hill... He has this big hill with stones at the top and sometimes he likes to move them I don't understand so we just did what he wanted us to, then he had us move some wood over by the bunnies because he likes it over there better. Pretty much he finds pointess jobs for us to do. While the Elders build things for his yard. Like this past week they built a grave.... We aren't really sure about that one. So we don't ask. Later that night we had an appointent with Siter Bösemann.. She is the sweetest lady I have ever met she is in our branch and we wanted to check up on her. She was really sad because none of her kids have joined the church and she writes them a letter everyday with her testimony in it telling them of the blessings of the church. I thought it was amazing. She is so sweet. We had planned to share our favorite scriptures with her. I had mine, my mission scripture. I had the book mark you made me mom. and Papa was right they love stuff like that. She admired that for like 20 min. and in my best German I could I bore my testimony I felt the spirit so strong I started crying. I talked about my family and that didn't help the tears. I am pretty sure she couldn't understand what I said. My German is horribe but she felt the spirit and it was really good. Everything reminded me of you mom. She had made us Pero and she told us at least 100 times don't worry its not coffee!! It was funny! We talked about families and how important they are to us. I had my bookmark with me and the leaves are changing here and I think about going with you and Lisa and Kristen and filling Lisa's car with bugs again. But I guess that will have to wait!
Well Friday we helped a couple move. That was intersting we carried stuff up and down 6 flights of stairs probably 100 times. We were dying. But it was alot of fun. There was this sassy little 8 year old. She remined me of me.. It was fun, Also Watts told me he knew exactly who I was.. And he really did.. It was kind of freaky. He told me the minute he saw me at the train station he knew I would be a mom and I would have a big husband with a big bank account. I'm not sure if that was a complement, but oh well I will take it. He also said I am the type of person who likes beards and facial hair.. and that I will probably marry a poly or someone of different color.. I was like well I love Facial hair and polys... So there you go! It was really funny!!
Conference with the Elders

Okay now for Conference. Yes we watched Conference. All the missionaries get to go to Erfurt and watch it in the building they have. It was so fun to watch it as missionaries! So with the time difference we started watching conference at 3 on Saturday. We watched the Womens meeting from a week ago. And then at 6 we watched the Saturday morning session live. Then on Sunday we went back to Erfurt and at 2 we watched the Saturday afternoon session and had the 2 hour break and then at 6 we watched the Sunday morning session live again. And then we had to go home because it was like 9. So we dont get to see the last session until next week or when it gets posted online. But It was so good! I loved the Focus on the blessing of the Gospel and the focus on the importance of the Atonement and our Savior Jesus Christ. I loved the talk at the Womens Session from Uchtdorf. And how he said the most important thing we can know is that we are children of God. And how Heavenly Father is raining down blessings for us but most time we let fear get in the way like an umbrella shields the rain. We need to put our umbrella down, trust in God and have faith to fight our fears so we can be showered with the blessings from Heaven. Seriously it was so good! If you haven't read or watched that I would invite everyone to! I just loved confernce It was so good! Everything about it! I cant wait to go back and re read them! Well this letter is aready long enough. I hope you have a wonderful week! I love you all so much! Never forget Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you! They want to the best for you! Learn to rely on them and you will be happier in this life!
Have a wonderful week!!
Ich liebe Dich!
With Huiying our investigator who is getting baptized October 18th!!
